Call to Worship Kim Kelleher
Women: To make me less afraid Men: To loosen my heart Women: A torch, a promise. Men: To live.

Leader:  I will not die an unlived life,
People:  I will not go in fear
Leader:  Of falling or catching fire,
People:  I choose to inhabit my days,
Leader:  To allow my living to open to me,
Leader:  More accessible,
Leader:  Until it becomes a wing,
Leader:  I chose to risk my significance:
Leader:  So that which comes to me as seed,
People:  Goes to the next as blossom,
Leader:  And that which comes to me as blossom,
All:  Goes on as fruit.

Thanks from Bridges: This year, with the help of many donors and volunteers, Bridges distributed over 1,200 gifts – that’s about 300 more than last year !On behalf of our homeless friends who received gifts thoughtfully purchased and beautifully wrapped by members of Christ Church, thank you. Enthusiasm around the truck escalated as the decorated packages were handed out one by one. Six shelters or groups working with children in need in Newark, Irvington and Summit, representing over 500 children, received hundreds of new toys and new pajamas. The children and their parents were overjoyed.

We offer a special thanks to the Christ Church Sunday school children who were especially busy this holiday season making fleece pillows for sheltered children, breakfast bags and toiletry kits for our homeless neighbors.

Through your generosity this holiday season, you have made our homeless friends, who may not otherwise have received a gift, extremely happy. Thank you for helping us to make this a season of joy and heartfelt giving. Best wishes for the new year.

Lois Bhatt, Executive Director, Bridges
