	Leader:	We do not come before you, O God, as heroes and heroines, making boasts and seeking halos.

	People:	We come before you as rebels in need of your formation, making confession and seeking forgiveness.

	Leader:	Like King David, we have exalted you in public, but we have betrayed you in secret.

We receive this child as new person in Christ. We offer our understanding and support as he explores life. We enfold him in our love, seeking together to grow in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and all people. We join with Dan and Amy in telling the Gospel in our midst, so that their child and all children may live with us for Christ, showing forth his love for all people.
